Friday 18th April –
Boost Mobile Surf Sho Junior Qualification Event
8am – Start Round 1
3.20pm – Final Commences
On show will be 48 junior surfers busting out their biggest and best moves from their aerial surfing repertoires. The winning criterion is simple - successfully complete the highest most innovative aerial possible!
At the end of every round only the top will go through to the next round based on their single best air scores.
The format eliminates half the surfers over 3 rounds, ending in a cut throat 6 man final. The surfer successfully throwing down the biggest most innovative aerial maneuver is through to the main event!

At Saturdays Open Qualifications Event you’ll witness local stars and international rippers boosting big air in their chase for main event glory.
The format sees the field of 60 surfers competing in 6 man heats, where at the end of every round only the top 3 surfers will go through to the next round based on their single best air scores.The best successfully completed aerial wins the cut throat 6 man 45 minute Boost Mobile Open Qualification final.

The Winner from the Open Qualifications event earns $5,000 and steps up to the plate for the Boost Mobile Surf Sho Main Event on Sunday. 2nd, 3rd and 4th place Open Finalists also progress through to the big time!

There is a Best Air Of The Day prize that enables a surfer who successfully completed the most innovative aerial to also progress through to the Boost Mobile Surf Sho.
(Note: if the best air is awarded to 1st – 4th place in the Open Final then 5th place progresses through).

The 2008 Boost Mobile Surf Sho Main Event! With $20,000 going to first place the surfer wearing the Players Jacket, holding the trophy and winners cheque will have boosted better than the rest.
The main event attracts a competitive field of 20 surfers.
5 ASP CT surfers, including current World Champion Mick Fanning.
9 Aerial Specialist invitees.
The top 4 surfers from the Open Qualification Event.
The Best Air Of The Day surfer
The winner of the Junior Qualification Event surfers Junior Airshow winner
The format is simple. 20 surfers in 5 man elimination heats. There are 5 Rounds of 4 x 5 man heats.
The acclaimed Surf Sho Wheel spins at the start of each heat – The surfers then have 20 minutes to perform the trick shown on the wheel. Surfers will be given scores for the completed tricks (90% completion rule applies)
Surfer with the highest score per heat wins.
B-O-O-S-T
The winner of each heat gets a letter – The letter received is based on their previous heat wins i.e. First win gets you a B the second, an O etc.
At the conclusion of the 5 rounds, the top 5 surfers (and their BOOST letters) go into the Boost Mobile Surf Sho Grand Final.

The Final 5 Surfers in the Boost Mobile Surf Sho Grand Final then get ½ hour to cut sic, where – the ‘Best Air wins!’
